My plus/minus 2% meter says 55 volts is somewhere between 53.9 and 56.1
volts.
The C40 plus/minus 5% meter says 55 volts is somewhere between 52.25 and
57.75 volts.
Ralph Heisey at Bogart Engineering compared his current reading
Trimetric and calibrated shunt to his C40 which with a copper wire
shunt. His C40 meter reads about 15% lower.
In 1994, Keith Emery at NREL wrote, "When I compare with other
laboratories a difference of 10% for cells or module is often
encountered unless we have had substantial interactions to reduce the
uncertainty.
The point is don't get hung up on tenths of a volt. You're still going
to have to fine-tune for best performance.
Best regards,
Joel Davidson
