MC PV closure [RE-wrenches]

Graham,

We installed an MC Cable production line several months ago using the
compressed air crimper. I just reviewed all the literature provided with
this equipment and it states "using tinned wire may be advantageous". That
doesn't sound like a requirement to me but I will dive into this more
tomorrow and keep you and the list updated. The MC hand tools are a huge
investment and several dealers are buying our ready made cables.

Bob,

It certainly would be nice to only install UL listed components,
especially ones that have current passing through the center of them. I
will most likely use the MC clamps to keep the kid in the future who is
pulling a ball or other object out from under an array from also pulling
apart a connection. I had been using flex conduit between modules, but
that is not UL compliant. Short of putting EMT with a path to ground on
each section between modules, I don’t know of a better way?

I had been thinking about purchasing the tools to make my own MC's and
the instructions state that the wire must be tinned. I have samples
from other sources, which I pulled appart, and the wire is not tinned.
This is probably not UL compliant?

Graham
