Favorite inverter? [RE-wrenches]

In case anyone missed Steve's useful comments, here they are again.

For OFF grid, it really depends on the size of the system and expectations of
the user.

I would say
1. SW4024 is still a safe bet for the larger home/larger budget, but would not
be appropriate for a one or two person small cabin dwelling. There we use both

2. UX1112SB a lot for the minimal cost and really handles most jobs, in the
smaller cabin-home where washer is non-existent or limited to a Staber.

3. Prosine 2.0 is popular and seems to be working out well for those in-between
who have more budget and quality consciousness for better battery charger and
true sine wave.

Of course there are a lot of others: Prosine 2.5 or 3.0 has performed well but
is close to SW pricing in 24 volt systems. DR is conspicuously missing from my
suggestions. We sell many DR inverters, but usually I try to move a DR2412 or
DR2424 and certainly a DR3624 buyer up to true sine wave.

So those are just my first thoughts when speaking with those classifications of
customer. We sell lots of all the inverters in our catalog with exception of the
Trace PS series, which we discourage and may not remain in the catalog for long.

This may be a difficult time to compile a usage survey, as Outback will change
much of your results after it gets into full swing with all battery input
voltages.
