Yes - it can be used for any battery voltage from 12 to 60 vdc
(nominal)in fact. Max battery bulk, float and EQ setpoint voltage is 80
vdc. Max open circuit is 125 vdc (really due to the breakers we use and
to provide plenty of safety margin).
Here are some other answers for questions you might have:
The design is a buck only type so the PV's MPPT voltage needs to be
higher than the battery to get any boost out of it. It can be used to
step down a 48 or 60 vdc nominal PV array to a 12/24/32/36 vdc
battery/inverter. We can also MPPT after we have switched into float
mode, without having to retrigger a bulk cycle (unlike other MPPT
designs). The temp comp sensor is a plug-in option.
The DC output current is electronically limited to 60 amps for all
voltages and we are completing the certification testing using 60 amp
continuous rated hydraulic magnetic breakers. The physical dimensions
and knockout locations make it an easy upgrade from a C40 controller.
We also allow the battery/PV negatives to be common (single wire - like
the C40) so no rewiring is required when upgrading an existing system.
