OutBack MPPT Charge Controller - was FX2000 update [RE-wrenches]

Christopher,

I haven't seen this new module yet but is sounds like a 108-cell module
which means that two could not be put in series on 125Vdc equipment. It
would only be useful for higher voltage grid-tied systems if that is the
case.

Bill.

We have completed most of the ETL testing on the MX60 PV MPPT charge
controller at this point. We did find one construction issue with the
design during the testing causing us to make some changes which delayed
the release. Production units in volume should be shipping in mid to
late October.

The MX60 is a single model for 12, 24, 36, 48 and even 60 volt battery
systems (125 vdc max PV open circuit voltage). Only the voltage
regulation setpoints need to be changed when installing a MX60 on a 48
vdc system (12 vdc is the default setting). All setpoint adjustments
are made on the built in 4 line 80 character LCD display which also
shows output watts and KWH.

BTW > I heard there is a new Sharp (?) PV module coming out which has a
64 vdc open circuit? Is this a cold or hot value? Using two in series
will be an issue with the 125 vdc maximum ratings on all of our circuit
breakers and ground fault protection systems... any thoughts?
