GTI Clarification [RE-wrenches]

Dear wrenches,

Matt Tritt with Environmental Energy in Atascadero Ca here. This is my first
attempt at this, so please bear with any errors in protocol that I may be
responsible for.

Regarding the flickering lights problem with the GTI, I've got a very
similar sounding problem with a 4024 client's system. Obviously, being a
totally dissimilar, battery-powered system, the problems are different in
origin, but the symptoms sound familiar.

When in LBX mode, the inverter will invariably go into a light-flickering,
brown-out phase which occurs for a long period of time,
prior to transfer to grid power. This happens regardless of the transfer
voltage set-points (or any other adjustable parameter), so I can't believe
that it's a battery-related problem. It's especially apparent every time the
refrigerator, blender, or any motor load is applied, after the solar inputs
are gone. This has been an on-going problem virtually since the unit was
installed in '99 but, since the inverter was normally run in Float mode, it
never seemed to be that urgent a situation.

The system is used to off-set power consumption and provide back-up for
dedicated circuits and is never used in sell mode. I've got many other
Sinwaves out there in off-grid applications which work great, always
starting/stopping generators as programmed with no hint of this
flickering-brownout stuff.

Any ideas??????
