ST Problems [RE-wrenches]

Friends:

I have two ST1500 inverters installed side by side. They have more or less
worked since installation about 9 months ago. The client called a few days
ago and claimed the system was not working. Both STs showed 0 watts being
produced. The red "Grid failure" LED insides was illuminated.

I turned all of the breakers off and after a few minutes, back on. Both
inverters started to produce small amounts of power (up to about 800 watts)
for a brief time. One shut down after a short time. The other would go up
to 600 to 700 watts then back down to zero.

I checked grid voltage for awhile with a recording voltmeter. It never
went below 240 or above 246 or below 59.97 or above 60.01 hertz. All of
these are well within published parameters. Xantrex tech support was not
much help.

Anyone have any idea what may be happening?
