This Davis VP is a new line and made slightly better than older models.
Ours has taken 80 mph gusts several times without problems. But, for a
solar powered system that is wireless, with long range you are limited.
If you want the best and can cable, then by all means go with the NRG.
We use them, and NRG is top of the line. But, be ready to open your
wallet as the top of the line does not come cheap.
A slighty lower cost opotion for data logging is a sensor and logger
from http://www.onsetcomputer.com/. We have used Onset's Hobo loggers to
troubleshoot Trace Gridtek-10 inverters with great results. But we
have not used the weather / wind sensors.
