It appears that GFI's tripping may become one of the most common PV
service calls and that finding the fault location is difficult (time
consuming). What we need is a meter or tool that can reliably display
how many feet from the GFI the fault is located. I am told that some
homeowners either defeat bathroom circuit GFI's or replace them with
standard breakers when service calls become a nuisance. I wonder what
percentage of PV homeowners in the future will eliminate GFI's as the
least expensive remedy for making systems operational. Does anyone know
of a device available at this time that helps locate ground faults and
arc faults?
