Long-distance monitor/control of 4024 [RE-wrenches]

I have run an e-meter ~200'... but not with standard low gauge telephone or
other small communication wire. I used single strands of solid 12 gauge wire and
using a drill, twisted the shunt pair. This has worked fine. I suspect the
length limitations are due to the losses in the regularly small sized wires.
This can be overcome by using larger wire, although I do not know the total
length limitation when using #12.

I am not sure this could be applied to a parallel cable though.
