Trace/Onan starting [RE-wrenches]

Most Onan type generator controls are push one to start, push 2 to stop.
Both momentarily ground their respective terminals. A relay in the Onan
generator does the rest. Therefore parallel manual switches with SW control
seems to be no trouble. Advantage is you can start the generator from one
control location and stop it from another, as many manual switches parallel
as you want. can't do that with a 2-wire control. In two wire parallel
controls, ANY switch turned on starts the generator, but it stops only when
ALL switches are off, so you have to turn it off at the same switch where it
was started, of course.
Either way I don't see where a DPDT is needed because the switches do work
in parallel.

I used to have an Onan. When they discontinued the CCK cast iron engine
line, we switched to selling Kohler for a cast iron 1800 rpm. In this case
I liked the 3 wire control's flexibility so well that I built a relay box
with electrically latched relay to adapt my Onan 3-Wire system to the Kohler
2-wire, and I still keep the 2 button controls in home and shop so I can
start from one location, stop from any other.
