Air model wind genny's [RE-wrenches]

The AIR Industrial installation manual states that if you
>wish to use a diversion controller you must "turn 'off' the internal
regular
>by gently turning the adjustment screw all the way clockwise."

That's what it says, but as far as I can see it is not a multistage
regulator, ie the pot simply sets a threshold. I'd just set the diversion
controller to your target charge voltage, and turn up the AIR a volt or so
to prevent it interfering. Then it is still there to protect your battery
(for a while) if the divert controller fails or your dump load thermostat
comes on.

Alternatively if you don't actually want to do anything with the excess
power, why not connect a divert controller so that it shorts the AIR when
the battery is full. Easy - no power to dump, and turbine stopped so minimal
wear and noise. Shorting at speed busts some turbines but the AIR manual
says it is OK.

Any good?
