Hi Folks:

We also tested the Power Planners on grid and off. They have a phantom
load. They don't change power factor or any other aspect measured by a
Brand meter especially total watts. Voltage measured on an Oscilloscope
though, they take a small notch out of the sinewave curve about 1/3 of the
way before peak.(at 60 degrees if peak is at 90 and zero occurs at 0 and 180)
"Soft Start" lowering of peak amp draws for induction motor starting?
Forget it. We actually saw peak watts increase in some tests.
But I LOVE my Brand meter. Try doing load analysis of computers or
flourescent lights without measuring power factor; you are going to be way
off.
