Todd,
Have you looked into commercial grade UPS systems? Your local electrical
supply house can get you started on finding one. Several years ago we
installed one for 15kW worth of lighting at 277v. They usually are high
frequency switching inverter (like a pro-sine?) so it has very little surge
capacity but a pure sine output. It seems like when we were picking out
that unit it was available in many voltages. Dual-Lite and MGE make them
along with many others.
Also Caterpillar's flywheel UPS is out on the market. It might have a 208
option.
I would hesitate to use an RE inverter for something like you are trying to
do especially in an industrial environment. The liability of an RE inverter
failing would be totally on you whereas these commercial UPS are built by
very large companies who would be able to stand behind there product should
it fail. Trace is very clear (in the fine details) that their inverter is
not a UPS along with not being "life and safety" rated.
