Beating a surging horse/ trace sw 5548 [RE-wrenches]

Hullo there..

When I installed my first Trace a few years ago the literature was specific
about the surge capacity of the various models.

This information seems to have dropped out of the promotional material.

Was this on purpose, how can we now have reliable design criteria for motor
start surge of high short term loads.

As a rule of thumb I expect a 3:1 ratio between rating and surge capability
short term. Is this no longer a safe assumption with the current production ??
