Heating and Cooling [RE-wrenches]

I haven't looked very hard for while but the best window AC units that I
could find had SEER's (BTU's/watt hour) of 12.  The only place I could find
hotel style unit was at Grainger but there was no notation of efficiency. 
What notation I could find indicated that they were well under SEER's of 10.

Dan,  you might experiment with an evaporative cooler.  They typically are
worthless in high humidity areas but lately I have seen a resurgence of them
in the Ozarks (very high humidity) and people have told me that they work
pretty good.  These are larger units installed in factories.  Sold by
Graingers of course.
