Proposed Changes to C.E.C. rebates in California [RE-wrenches]

This subject overlaps into the RE-Marketing group, but since it started here...Today
I emailed and snail mailed the following letter to the CEC. I would appreciate if
someone going to the May 16 meeting would also express concern about big projects
eating up all the rebate money. With only $135 million per year available, that's
only 10 or 15 big projects - and then no money for residential systems. This is a
real concern.

Commissioner Michal Moore
California Energy Commission
Docket Nos. 98-REN-EXI, 98-REN-EME, 96-REN-1890
Docket Unit, MS-4
1516 Ninth Street
Sacramento, CA 95814-5504

Honorable Commissioner Moore:

I commend the Commission for increasing the emerging renewables buydown rebate to
$4.50/watt.

I respectfully request the Commission to increase proportionately its emerging
renewables consumer education efforts to increase public awareness of this excellent
program.

I also request that the Commission watch the rebate program closely to ensure that
rebate funds continue to be available to homeowners and that large projects greater
than 100 kilowatts do not use up all the funds.

Thank you very much for helping to keep California a leader in solar energy.

Respectfully,
Joel Davidson
