Hi Charlie,

Thanks of the input.  Industrial Power Systems of Denver, the big Kohler 
dealer locally, won't try to reconfigure the 25 KW generator without a 
single phase exciter.  They also say that we destroy the unit trying to run 
it with the imbalance.

It seems like a big generator for a home system, but we are talking stacked 
4024 inverters charging  24 L-16s.  Since the generator is at altitude, 
with the derating factor, it is a good fit.

There must be an old Kohler with a blown engine in a junk yard somewhere 
that we could scavenge an exciter off of.  But where?
