SW generator control question [RE-wrenches]

Why don't they simply NOT cycle the batteries at all, as this shortens their
life and adds to the systems overall inefficiency... Sell the excess back to
the grid and when they need power they can pull it back again from the grid.
Running the generator is only a waste of money and adds pollution to the
planet... these units are best used for grid backup, should the batteries be
down and the sun not shining.
If the customer insists on using their system in such a strange way I suggest
they just turn the incoming grid feed breaker hooked to AC1 off. The SW will
default to AC2 as the main source then everything will be powered from the sun
/ batteries and genny... It will be easy enough for them to turn it back on
should they hopefully later discover that how they want to operate things makes
no sense.
While you are at it, maybe you need to sit down with these folks and educate
them on the reasons for NOT running their system as they want to. Nothing like
running a fine system in a stupid way to reduce the effectiveness and
efficiency of it's operation. Seems like the biggest job for most of us is
education... the hardware is relatively simple.
