Our 2 year old Whirlpool ET18GK (18 cu. ft., icemaker, top freezer) 
measures at 1.5 kWH/day on the Brand meter, showing about 150 W. running, 
190 W. defrosting. The power usage numbers were taken over a 6 week 
period.

I plan to add rigid foam insulation to the sides and top before summer 
and measure kWH again.

It will be interesting to see how much lower the annual kWH is in the new 
units that meet the latest Energy Star guidelines.
