Thanks Sharkey,

I don't have a scope.  Is there a simple way I can determine if these
are out of phase?  The utility brings it all in underground, with a
ground based transformer at the barn, and the line further trenched in
to the house and another large green box/transformer there.  I take it
the same problem exists if the Trace's AC1 is on one "side" of a load
center and you switch a load to the inverter that was on the other side
of that center tapped 240? Thanks again - Kurt
