Trace/Onan starting [RE-wrenches]

Wrenches,
This just came in today. I did not do the install, or sell the equipment.
Any body have any experience with Onan's and Trace SW remote starting?
"Dave - In my house I have a Trace SW series
inverter/charger. I have two Onan generators, the
first, 6.3 NHDFB 7512M, propane fueled, the second, a
JC Industrial Engine, 12.5 Kwatt, 1964 vintage,
propane fueled, can be converted for gas operation.
I had the 6.3 NHD hooked up using a 3 wire start
setup. All the electrical work was done by a licensed
electrician, who had no previous Onan/Trace
experience. When I would start the generator via the
Trace unit. The generator would start no problem but
as soon as it would start, a grinding noise would
occur & the generator would shut down. I put 4
starters into this unit. I then purchased the second
Onan generator, convinced that the first generator was
a lemon. I still have the same 3 wire hook up. Now the
second generator is doing the same thing. The last two
times that grinding noise has come about, I have
immediately shut the generator off via the Trace unit,
& walked out to the generator & started the generator
via the Start/Stop switch located on the generator. It
starts fine with no grinding. I would appreciate any
assistance that you might have to offer. Thank you. - Jim______"
