pond irrigation... [RE-wrenches]

Here's a unique question...

I am working with a customer that is adding a pond (30' X 50' X 3' deep)
to his homestead. He is needing information about some kind of aerator /
filtering system for it. As this is an off grid system the pump probably
needs to be a DC high efficiency type... does anyone have experience
with what is needed for this kind of application. Windy, you are the
pump man... ever done anything like this?
