Sure, Todd. Are you sure he wants filtering, as you say? Aeration
works wonders for keeping a pond in healthy biological balance. I
don't think he wants filtering.
So, there are two ways to aerate -- pumping water up a few feet and
splashing it down, and pumping air to the bottom of the pond, letting
it out through a diffuser that breaks it into teeny bubbles.
The air pump system is much more efficient, but sometimes people want
the splashing effect, or both.
We have a fountain pump called Sun Delight, that lifts water about 4
feet running on a 75 watt or so module. For such a small pond, it
might be adequate for aeration. If not, he can add the aerator -- or
just do the aerator, which is cheaper / less watts.
