In this case, we would just do a feeder tap on the feeder that comes
straight from the main breaker (not the feeder that comes from the
feed-through lugs) and install a 200A circuit breaker on the load side of
the PV interconnection.
If your utility does not require a utility-accessible disconnect switch,
you can just do the feeder tap in the subpanel that comes directly from the
service disconnect and install a main breaker in the subpanel.
See attached diagrams.
Square D makes a CSED that has two 200A disconnects PLUS a 200A bus with up
to four 2-pole service disconnects (this bus is not a feed-through).
However, those 2-pole disconnects can only be a maximum of 125A each. If
you have a smaller system, these breaker positions work well in many
circumstances, but the 120% rule or sum of breakers rule may come into play
for the bus. Technically this is a bit of a gray area, because this bus is
not protected at all by a primary supply OCPD, so it's not specifically
addressed in the code. This really isn't a "load side" interconnection -
your AHJ may consider each breaker position a line side interconnection
(since each breaker is a service disconnect) and none of the load side
provisions apply. Or they may say the intent of the code is to protect the
bus and apply the load side requirements. You could presumably split your
system into two systems and feed two 100A breakers on this bus and meet the
rapid shutdown requirement, especially if there are no other loads on the
bus (sum of the breakers rule).
