Hiya William,

Does the empty GSLC come with a top, or do you fabricate a top where the
Radian usually bolts on? Would love to see a picture of your dead front
hinge,  I always wanted to to that….

brackets and bus bars. I have received the cabinets missing hardware so
check the inventory beforehand.

Here are a few hints you probably already know:

The shunts are the shoddiest construction and it is very easy to break the
plastic base. Torque the upper shunt bolt after all other bus hardware is
torqued.

I recommend using two 175A breakers. For some troubleshooting procedures it
is necessary to isolate the two power modules.

An empty GSLC cabinet makes an acceptable PV recombiner. We cut off the
bottom dead front tab and substitute a hinge. We wire the breakers with the
dead font tilted out flat and all leads hinging at the bottom.

We never install any AC breakers in the GSLC cabinets. The back-wiring is
just too awkward. Instead  we use outboard breaker panels or panel
boards—one for Gen Fed and one for Inverter Fed.

For bypassing we fabricate custom slide plates bolted to the dead-front to
interlock output breakers. It’s not listed but with good craftsmanship it
looks official.

I am doing a multiple stacked Radian GS8048 system. And all I need in my
design is two OB 175 a breakers in a box which integrates w/ each
respective inverter. The manual bypass switch is useless, for all inverters
need to be bypassed at once using a single external bypass. OB does not
make a version of the GSLC which only has the inverter breakers. They do
make an empty GSLC with nothing in it. But no mounting assembly for the
breakers, and no add-on kit offering to do this either.

I thought Midnite made something compatible, but don't see it on their web
site. Any ideas? Thanks.
