[RE-wrenches] Buchanan Crimps in Outdoor Boxes

Wrenches, 

I will add an opinion to this discussion.  There is no cure for an
unreasonable inspector.  However, if you are connecting non-aluminum
conductors, try using NO-OX-ID A-SPECIAL electrical grade grease.
https://www.sanchem.com/electrical-contact-lubricant.html  This does an
excellent job of excluding corrosive liquids and gases from the contact
surfaces.  I will continue to use Buchanan crimps and insulators where I
dope the wires prior to crimping with the above grease.  The crimp zone
under the (4) indentors of the C-24 tool swage the wire strands into
excellent contact and the grease keeps the joint sealed.  If I expect
the joint to be submersed, then a western-union wire-wrap splice for
mechanical strength followed by soldering  and encapsulation in
adhesive-lined heat shrink tubing would be my choice.  My two cents.
