<x-flowed>Bob ETAL,
No, I can't see where it would void a UL listing. The firmware is
just a set of four chips that go in sockets designed for such chips.
As to warranty, save the MC chips and put them back before sending it
in. Duh! If the inverter blows a FET bank or hangs a relay, it ain't
because of different chips.
I can understand a new regime wanting to show their stuff and making
changes, however misinformed. The thing that burns my butt is the
letter Trace sent out about the discontinuation. Kevin Somebody (who
was foolish enough to sign the thing) states the reason for the
discontinuation of the SW2512 as the great success of the PS series
inverters. Now I know and y'all know that these things are pretty
much turkeys from a wrench point of view and ain't NO way they ever
outsold the SW2512. So it is really some other reason. Fine, it's
their company they get to do what they want, but don't LIE to us,
dammit.
