I agree it will void any warranty you might have, plus I am sure you would
also surrender the UL listing!
I hate to see it discontinued but I also hated to see it not available in 24
volt.

I have a question about the "hot rod kit". So what happens if there is
problem and the inverter goes back to Trace they find this "hot rod kit"
and then say, well you modified it you're screwed?
I think this issue might want to be carefully handled
