	Yes Kurt, you are correct, you are way off...

	Remember that the voltage in a parallel circuit is the same everywhere. If
you attempted to series connect the meter leads of two parallel connected
shunts, you'd be shorting them out. Connecting the meter leads to only one
shunt is acceptable, as the two parallel shunts are going to have pretty
hefty conductors connecting them together. The voltage across both of the
shunts is going to be the same, 1 mv for each 20 amps that flows through
the two shunts.
	If I could I'd attach a drawing. Don't want to fool around for an hour
trying to make an ASCII drawing either...
