I hate to put my foot in it, but here goes.

I don't think sexy is the issue, as this is passing in fancy. I feel the timing
is perfect for cost effectiveness to be the real issue.

I would bring up what you can really hope to deal with. Yea it would be great
to deal with the in's and outs of fossil fuel subsidies etc, but you'll get
nowhere with it, nor can they change it. So that leaves the what you can do
part.

1. Solar thermal

2. solar electric, intertie ( without and ( and I hate this ) with batteries.

3. stand alone getting bank financing. ( in this regard I think its already
covered. They will loan money on a house that has a generator, and most larger
houses are pretty much going to need a generator so I have never found this to
be a problem. However you should contact Keith Rutledge here in CA., Willits
can help you out there with companies that will loan money on off grid homes.
He can and will talk with the local bank, give them the rap, hes good. I don't
have his address in front of me but let me know and I'll get it out there.

Good luck and know them silly!!
