Sparky,
    Ralph Heise of Bogart once explained to me how he saw charge efficiency
(and on which he based the Tri-Met design:
    On a "per charge" basis, with cells in good condition, efficiency is up
around 97-99%.  It's the need for periodic EQ charges, float maintenance,
self-discharge, etc., that make the overall efficiency of the batteries much
lower, as that is amps in, that are never taken back out as usable power,
that skew the efficiency equation.
