Piss poor Trace SW preformance in "sell" mode. [RE-wrenches]

Wrenches,

WOW... 28 amp hours a day @ 26.4 VDC. Thanks for the heads up on this
reading. As I suspected there are days in the depth of winter when I do
not see that off the 1.4 kW array. Those days the Trace is using more
than it sells... sigh. This also confirms my suspicion that the idle
current is higher than (15? watts) as advertised... your numbers
calculate out at 31.25 watts.

This again emphasizes the importance of this unit being smart enough to
shut itself off when not needed. It is like an off grid home running the
inverter all the time and not have it "sleep" when no loads are present.
Talk about a phantom load... the SW4024 beats them all!!

What do the other installers think is the market for this kind of
upgrade (silent sell)? Maybe a letter to the editor of HP would be a
good way to publicize the need for SW improvements and perhaps embarrass
Trace to get going with it. I recall HP letter complaints about bad
customer service had a positive effect. Anyone feel like writing a
letter that a bunch of us could sign?

As to the external microprocessor application, maybe if Trace knows such
a home-brew animal is in development they will be more motivated to come
up with something themselves. No doubt they would prefer to see the
profits.

I am glad that there is a group of us working on resolution of this
problem. One way or another, it looks like we can be successful.
