Carl and others,
Canon's 49% of Uni-Solar was sold to Bekaert recently. They are a European
based world wide metal manufacturer.  They have a steel belt (for radial
tires) plant in AR and a dozen other major plants in the US.  Also, Texaco
bought 20% of Energy Conversion Devices, the Uni-Solar parent company,
because they are very interested in their hydrogen storage R & D.

Further to Richards suggestions can I make a plug for Canon/Unisolar
being PC.

Advantages include no glass, two years use to return the energy of
manufacture, very low CO2 emmission during production process. Canon is
committed to 'Kyosei"

Performance wise, check out Real Goods "Solar Shootout" at Solfest '98
in June '98.
Canon US64 out performed Siemens and Astropower 75 Watt modules by 9%
and 12% respectively.
I can supply supportive data if needed.
