I've always made those two settings the same, usually 30 Amps, assuming
the genny could handle it (two Honda 6,500 Watt machines can only deliver
19 Amps without being dragged down, despite the Honda outlet being
labeled 120 VAC, 27 Amps).

This Kohler 12RY was re-wired for 120 VAC only and is fueled by LPG
(propane). With altitude de-rating, it delivers about 10.8 kW. I'll use a
Fluke 87 to measure the Kohler Peak RMS on my next visit. Many Hondas
show about 170 V. Peak, whereas my 30 kW Onan only delivers 157 V. Peak.

There were no other loads while the Kohler ran for 6 hours yesterday.
