Try setting the Gen Amps AC (Menu #11) higher than the  Max Charge 
Amps AC (Menu
#10). Say, 40 and 30. You should be able to get close to a C-10 
charge rate to your 1270 A/hr battery with the 30A default Max Charge 
Amps, or even a little less. Unless....the peak to peak ac voltage of 
that Kohler is low. Grid is 164, most gennys run somewhat lower, but 
you need to have 155 or better under load to make the charger 
perform. Don't know if you have other loads, but bear in mind that 
the 4024 in charger mode is only about 55-60% efficient.
