SW4048 giving me grief [RE-wrenches]

	Donna;

Here's my take on the SW4048 situation:

	1) It's NOT possible to 'SELL' power to a generator, this is an invalid
mode for a generator-connected inverter. You should have it set for 'FLOAT'.

	2) You should be setting the 'Bulk' and 'Float' voltages under menu item
10-Battery Charging to something like Bulk-57.6 and Float-54.4. HVD will
not properly maintain battery charge alone, make sure that the 'BULK' and
'FLOAT' are set to within the battery manufacturers specifications.

	3) Be sure to check the output voltage of the generator as read on the SW
menu item 4-Meters. It should be the same as nominal line voltage, 120
volts. Also check the generator frequency, 60 Hz.
In a system I installed just yesterday on a generator-connectd system,
they had lost several electronic power supplies due to *under* voltage, the
generator was putting out 105 volts at 58 Hz. Most high quality
construction-grade generators will have both voltage and frequency
adjustments. Make sure that they are set right.

	4) In menu 4-Meters, also check the Inverter output volts. Mine usually
runs about 125 volts.

	5) I have seen cordless drill chargers fry on mod sine power, but never SW
series inverter power. In fact, we charge 250 two-way radio batteries for a
week using a SW2512, and the batteries eat it up! I think you have a
generator problem, not an inverter problem (aside from overcharging the
inverter batteries, that is.)

Let us know if this helps, or if you have other questions, please include
as many speciifcs of the system as you can.
