Transformer T240 [RE-wrenches]

John,

I assume the Yamaha is rated for 4600 watts(is that surge or continuious power?). Balancing
is the right idea, but:

1.) the generator is undersized. If the charger is drawing the maximum power from the
generator(30 amps @ 120 vac), thats 3600 watts. There's not may amps left to power household
loads at the same time.

2) the Trace T240 is rated for 3900 watts continously. You're pushing its limits with a 4600
watt generator.

I'd recommend a larger generator (6 kw) min. At least you'd have 20 minimum available amps
for household loads if the Trace charger were operating at maximum ouput of 30 amps([6000
watts /120 vac] - 30 = 20 amps). You'll have to use a larger transformer for step down than
the T240. Call me if you're interested in finding a source.
