TV needs sinewave [RE-wrenches]

<x-flowed>I stated that particular new TV model would NOT work on modified wave
inverters including Powerstar UPG700, Cherokee and AC genius portables,
which the customer had bought and tried in turn. He came back, with TV and
inverters and I tried the same here and then tried with a Trace DR modified
waveform inverter.  I established that at least the particular
Philips/Magnavox from Wal-Mart that the customer brought in would not even
start on modified waveform (though it did pull a large momentary surge that
worried me). Then I went to an Exeltech 250 true sine wave, and it did work
fine.  I also tested it on our own power system, from Trace SW2512 and it
ran fine. I also had a Prosine 1000 Statpower true sine wave 1000 watt to
test, but I think perhaps I did not because I think the Prosine 1000 on
display had input voltage that did not match my test battery, but I conclude
that the true sinewave is required for that television set.
