	List;

	I think we should keep the sine/mod-sine inverter discussion in
perspective. Yes, sine wave is the best way to go, but there is not one
thing wrong with powering whatever loads you have with mod-sine if it does
the job properly. I think Richard would agree that we all (including the
customer) want the best value for the installed dollar. Sure, most loads
are reactive, but if they work properly, and give acceptable electrical
efficiency, then use the mod-sine.
	Of course, when installing for a customer, one has to be aware that they
may not consider the difference between their self-geneated power and the
grid, quality-wise. They may be aware that there is less of it, but not
that there are ordinary appliances that may not operate properly or at all
while consuming that renewable energy. For these instances, it's probably
best to install the sine-wave as their satisfaction with the system (and
your installation) may hinge upon it's performance while using 'difficult
loads'.

	John;

	As for your quoted prices, I realise that $1 (US) = $2 (NZ), but even with
that exchange rate, somebody is making some bucks on equpment. Is there a
stiff import duty or high taxes to pay ??? Perhaps we need to send you a
cargo ship full of RE equipment to jump-start your RE economy??

	Kurt;

	If you decide to try a capacitor across your inverter's output, make sure
it is rated for *well over* the AC voltage and current expected at the
output. You may have to try a variety of values. It might also be better to
put the cap across the *motor*, rather than the inverter, then it will only
be in-circuit when the motor is running. Also try measuring the DC current
into the inverter with the capacitor in and out of the circuit with the
motor running. You may find it is better to disconnect the cap after the
motor has started (more and better complex circuitry!)
