The problem with this idea is that very few home loads are 
resistive--most are inductive. CF lights are not resistive, all 
motors are not resistive, anything with a transformer or switching 
power supply is not resistive. About the only loads in a home which 
are resistive are light bulbs and electric heaters--both of which are 
not in common usage in RE homes. I surveyed our loads here at FMI and 
the only resistive load in common usage is the toaster....
