Does anybody happen to know who this fellow "The Solar Guru" happens to be?
I question whether submerging the insulation in battery acid will do
anything but destroy the insulation. I think it will just swell and (for the
lack of a better word) get "rubbery".
But, please don't stop, the results will be interesting. I am willing to
bet that UL listed $6.50 per foot cable will NOT hold up any better than a
good welding cable.
The occasional drop of acid and constant acid vapor is probably more
realistic, but who wants to boil a battery for that long, in a closed box?
I think corrosion resistance is one of the qualities they are going for, why
else would each individual strand be plated?
Keep up the good work,
Bob Ellison
