More Trace unresponsiveness [RE-wrenches]

On the Trace PS, we had decided not to use it, because of the gross
reduction in features and only slight reduction in price. Therefore I was
off-guard this week when a Trace salesman called to try to push these
models, telling it was $1500 lower priced than the SW. I finally got him to
explain that he was quoting the SW4024 price and comparing the 2500 watt PS
series with it. Now that was a real stretch, since there does exist a
SW2512 to compare it to. Needless to say he did not make a sale, but I did
have opportunity to discuss response times, product availability, slowing of
repairs and the often unusable tech dealer "hot"line.

It would be nice if Trace worked like they used to, but the direction they
are going leaves few hopes. I don't expect any exciting new products, but we
can hope the best of the old products can be continued for some time yet.
