I ditto on the above, and it's good to know. For instance when 
installing a shunt metering system and a Solar Boost controller, the 
S Boost has an option to hook it to an external master shunt for 
smarter regulating. Connect it to the same shunt as the meter, then 
set the S Boost to the shunt characteristics. Very easy to do. 
Confirmed OK in numerous installations.
