Problems with thefts of modules [RE-wrenches]

"Danger High Voltage!" signs have worked for us.  Of course there is no high
voltage around but it makes the thief slow down to wonder.   Any sort of
flashing light or buzzer works (to slow them down) as it makes the thief
make a decision to stay or flee based on the flashing light or buzzer being
tied into alarm system.  Stickers and signs near the array stating this can
be pretty effective.

Don't be afraid to put up a dummy camera.  We have put the ones up that have
a LED powered by a 9 volt battery that blinks.  I think we pay less the $40
for them from Northern Tool and Equipment.

Chain link fences topped with barb wire especially with a few "danger high
voltage" signs are about the most effective thing we have found.  Tamper
resistant hardware can also slow them down.

Of course no matter what you do the determined thief will still take them. 
I often wonder how much trouble the Highway Department has with the modules
being stolen from the portable road signs.
