Sunfrost noise/Propane Fridge [RE-wrenches]

    While I will cede the beauty of using a diverting controller to dump
excess power to cooling food, my personal experience with a Sibir propane
fridge in our home would lead me to buy electric next time around.
    In NM, propane fridges (even in lousy shape) fetch top dollar prices.
In our house, the roar of the burner is often the loudest noise.  The burner
goes out at random times.  The burner does not produce enough heat to make a
draft IF properly vented (making them susceptible to backdraft), and I have
yet to see one in any home vented at all.  The gaskets on my fridge, of
unknown vintage, have all the sealing power of, well, nothing.
    Since I have started working in solar, I dread the calls that begin
every heat wave--when a fridge dies, its always a crisis.  I have been told
that it is impossible to get parts for my Sibir.  Great, another disposable
appliance!
    When coupled to a further dependence upon dead dinosaurs, in hindsight I
shoulda bought a SunFrost!

condition of the door seals than the design.
