For a surface pump application, consider a Danoff Solar Slowpump model
1322-24V running at half-speed (15V array-direct or 12-14V battery. At 20'
of head, .25 gpm, and ~16-18w of PV; at 200' of head, .23 gpm and 45w of PV.
Last weekend we installed something like this, where we set a spring box
in a slow spring; used the Slowpump set above high water level; laid the 30"
filter horizontally below low water level; and used a float switch on the
remote shutoff circuit of a Solar Converters LCB, to prevent run-dry.
Worked great.

A SunRise deep-well sub model 5218 could handle this, sort of. You
didn't indicate total head and drawdown, only well depth, so for example, at
275', running half-speed with a controller, it will pump .8 gpm--still too
fast, but 1) the pump tolerates running dry without damage, and 2) the
controller has a dry-run sensing circuit that shuts the pump off for 20
minutes or so to recharge the well.
