Desulfaters? [RE-wrenches]

And while we're on the subject of desulfators...I could never get a handle
on just why you need 1 desulfator per series string. Wouldn't they be out
of phase enough of the time so as to cancel each other out to a certain
extent? I'm more comfortable with the units which are sized to the AH
rating of the battery bank...makes more sense to me and it seems more
cost-effective to boot! And I have to agree with Allan...how do you prove
this works if you must wait 5-15 years to do it? And how can you be sure
the batteries wouldn't have lasted that long w/o the desulfators?? Very
hard to prove a negative!
