Internally lit signs in cold weather [RE-wrenches]

John,

If they haven't already responded here, contact Bob or Ray at Energy
Outfitters.  They are the main distributors for Light-It Technologies
(formerly S&H of Putney, VT).  We have had very good results with their DC
ballasts.  Our design temps are not as low as yours, but I think theirs work
to 0 F.

Just an idea: we have put together one mailbox lighting package using white
(the color of moonlight, actually) LEDs.  The primary advantage is that the
power consumption is so low that the whole system is kinda minitiarized.
Whole system installed for <$1K.  Client very pleased.  We worked with Bill
Hollibaugh of Holly Solar on that one.  Hollysolar.com.
