Third on the Emporia monitor. The other thing about the Emporia system, is that with the EV charger, which is highly rated, you can have the monitor and EV charger work together to charge on excess solar instead of selling it back to the grid. This is the cheap way to help future proof your PV system against NEM 3. Just put the excess solar in the EV for use later on. This does mean you have to be able to charge from home during the day.

I'll second Chris' advice for the Emporia Vue. Very affordable and can be installed in about 1-2 hours at most in many cases. Affordable enough that it would likely be cheaper to leave in place than return to remove it. Bonus to have the platform already in place if they're going to add the Emporia EV charger as well.
Good luck, Nick

My fellow wrenchers.
Looking for a simple, cost effective, mobile KW meter. Have a customer that has built 3 additional buildings on his property that draw power daily. All wired into his primary service and cannot figure why his bill has more than tripled. Would like to find a KW meter that could be simply installed and monitored for a month on each building, giving him hard #’s as to what each building is using, then working a simple expansion of his existing solar system. Any and all ideas are appreciated. I have found numerous meters but no reviews and no one to answer any questions.
Thx
